GATE Exam 2017  who are applying for this they should have a complete information or a clear idea about the subjects, topics covered, marks distribution and duration of exams this can help the applicant to crack the score. Engineering Sciences (XE) Paper

A candidate appearing in the XE paper has to answer the following:

  • Section A – Engineering Mathematics
  • GA – General Aptitude
  • Any two of XE sections B to H

During the examination time after seeing question paper, the applicant has to choose two section from (B to H).At a time only two could be chosen. If the applicant has to change the section in the between then, the applicant has to think first that which previous section they have to drop.

 

Life Sciences (XL) Paper

A candidate appearing in the XL paper has to answer the following:

  • Section H – Chemistry
  • GA – General Aptitude
  • Any two of XL sections Q to U

During the examination time after seeing question paper, the applicant has to choose two section from (Q to U).At a time only two could be chosen. If the applicant has to change the section in the between then, the applicant has to think first that which previous section they have to drop (Q to U).

GATE Exam 2017 Pattern of Question Papers

Total 65 question worth of 100 marks will be there in all the exam of GATE. Were the 10 question would be asked on the General Aptitude (GA) worth of 15 marks. The bearing codes in papers AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PE, PI, TF, and XE.

The distribution of marks are in this way:

*Around 15% will be carried by the Engineering Mathematics.

*Around 15% will be carried by the General Aptitude section.

*Around 70% of marks carried by the devoted to the subject of the paper.

The codes are bearing in papers AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH and XL.

GATE Exam 2017 would contain questions of two different types in various papers:

  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). This type of question will be of 1-2 marks. The applicant has to tick any one correct answer out four option. It is objective in nature.
  • Numerical Answer Questions. This type of question will be asked for 1-2 marks each. There are no choices will be given, and the applicant has to entered the answer by virtual keypad.
